Cleveland Browns fire Hue Jackson after coach records three wins in 40 games
- Team won just one game in coach’s first two seasons

Hue Jackson’s failed, flawed tenure with the Cleveland Browns is over. The team fired their embattled coach on Monday, ending a run of futility nearly unmatched in NFL history. Jackson, who went 3-36-1 in two-plus seasons, was dismissed on Monday by general manager John Dorsey, a source told the Associated Press. The news was also reported by the NFL Network and ESPN.
Jackson’s firing came on day after the Browns lost their 25th straight road game, 20 of which have occurred with Jackson in charge. The Browns, who have not made the playoffs since 2002, have lost three straight games after a promising start to this season. It’s not immediately clear who will fill in for Jackson for the rest of this season. The Browns host one of the best teams in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Sunday.
